Terms of Service

FaceAncestry provides an AI-powered visual ancestry experience. You upload a photo, our system analyzes visual facial patterns, and returns an entertaining report with ethnicity-style matches, historical echoes, celebrity lookalikes, and shareable cards.

The results are probabilistic and pattern-based. They are not DNA analysis, genealogical research, or scientific ancestry data. They should be treated as entertainment only.

• ·You must be at least 13 years old to use FaceAncestry (16 in the EU/UK).
• ·You must have the legal right to upload any photo you submit — either it is a photo of yourself, or you have explicit permission from the person pictured.
• ·You may not upload photos of children under 13.
• ·You may not use the service to generate reports about individuals without their knowledge or consent.

You may use the free tier without an account. Creating an account lets you save reports and access your dashboard. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. We are not liable for losses from unauthorized access to your account.

You agree not to:

• ·Upload photos of individuals without their consent.
• ·Use the service to harass, defame, or harm any person.
• ·Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI model or data.
• ·Automate requests to the service without written permission.
• ·Misrepresent AI-generated results as scientific or medical fact.
• ·Use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

The free tier includes one ancestry scan with core layers. Premium reveals require purchasing credits (Single or 3-Pack). All purchases are one-time and non-subscription.

Credits are tied to your account and are consumed when a premium report is generated. Credits are non-transferable. See our Refund Policy for eligibility.

The FaceAncestry platform, brand, AI system, and generated card designs are owned by us. The report content generated for your photo is yours to use for personal, non-commercial sharing.

You retain all rights to the original photos you upload. By uploading a photo you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of generating your report.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RESULTS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ANCESTRY RESULTS ARE AI ESTIMATES FOR ENTERTAINMENT ONLY.

We are not responsible for any decisions made based on report results — including but not limited to medical, genealogical, identity, or legal decisions.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FaceAncestry operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration unless prohibited by local law.
